Lookbag Update

So I got an email about a week and a half ago saying my bag was on it's way, no tracker or anything o.O... And I wasn't charged this month. not sure wtf is going on at this point lol. Just glad I cancelled and hope they don't try to charge me again.

Myglam & Birchbox May 2012

                                 Myglam                                                                                 Birchbox

Well.. this will be my last Myglam & Birchbox post, I ended up cancelling Birchbox. I was very excited because of the Gossip Girl themed box, and I ended up being a bit disappointed. Decided if that was what I was to expect from the hype, future boxes might not be so great. Plus I didn't even get a nail polish this month to keep me happy :-(.

So I was sent... junk, I don't even really need to say what it is, you can see it. Yes.. that is a card, a single memo card. No that is not a deluxe beauty sample. I was a little excited when I first opened the box because there was a Stila eyeliner in there, but it's a bronze shimmery color and it isn't that pigmented at all, I had to paint it on over itself a few times to get it to stand out, and I am very pale! So anyway... Birchbox sorry to end our short lived relationship but you just didn't do it for me.

As for Myglam... I was also excited about this bag, and the lipstick would have been enough for me, unfortunately... I got it in an ugly brown. Again.. I'm pale, no thank you.

As for the nail bling.. meh, the brushes... are sooo tiny that I don't know how i would use them. I did see some people use them as nail art brushes so that may be what they end up as. The bag is of course cute, they always are. My favorite thing out of this bag though was the perfume, it's Love sweet love by philosophy and I absolutely love it, I definitely will be purchasing a full size bottle, so all in all Myglam wasn't a total disappointment, but I did get unlucky with the color of the lipstick. And I'm done with the brushes! Lol. I still have high hopes for Myglam and will stick with them for the time being.

I skipped subscribing to Glossybox because of these two but now I'm regretting it, I watched some videos and the products looked good. Though there was some contreversy with the boxes not being the actual products but blogger gifts to review... I don't know yet but we shall see!

Ciaté Caviar Manicure

Sorry it's been a while since I updated! Had a lot going on irl lately. But I have so much to post about! I might get a few posts done today :-D.

So the newest thing I bought was this Caviar nail polish set, I actually saw someone post about this on facebook and decided that I NEEDED it. So I went.. couldn't decide on a color so I got all three! Lol. Well After I did I went to go look at reviews. There were so many negative reviews it was a little disappointing after reading them, people were complaining about how easily the beads were falling off. I had just spent 85 dollars on 3 sets so I was upset. I would say to read the reviews first next time but...

I  received my package yesterday and I tried it out. I have since then cooked dinner, washed dishes, showered, slept, chatted up a storm on the internet, and I have only lost a few pearls, not enough to be noticeable at all. I did follow the directions completely, so who knows what everyone else was complaining about but these are gorgeous and I love them so much! I can't wait to try the other colors.

You can buy these on Sephora, and they are 25 dollars each but they are worth it and on top of that Sephora always sends you tons of samples to try. So if you love fancy pretty nails definitely give them a shot!

The Look Bag review

I subscribed to the Look bag at the beginning of March, they did charge me and it says that a package was shipped on the website. However I never got an email or tracking number of any kind. The site says I should expect a package in the first two weeks of the month and well, it's far past lol. I have tried to email and have gotten no response. I understand it can get busy but I would like any indication of where and if my package ever got sent out. When I had this problem with Birchbox the first month, they were quick to respond and even promised to resend if it didn't arrive at a certain date.

I did just cancel, I don't think I should have had to wait this long, with no contact whatsoever, I do see that it's not an overall problem by the amount of reviews on youtube and such but... I feel very meh about the lack of communication and not knowing if I'm even going to get an April bag at this point.

So that's the ONLY review I have for The look bag this month. :-(

Too Faced- Better than False Lashes

When I first saw this mascara I wanted to try it sooo bad, I love long lashes and am always on the search for new ones. However I never actually tried false lashes before, that is until the last glambag, I did like them a lot but they felt weird so I'm not sure yet if I will ever really be a false eyelash user.

But anyway! I ordered this mascara off Sephora.com, It's $35 and with shipping I paid around 40 dollars, that's a LOT of money for a mascara for me! But I watched the video and read reviews and it seemed to be wonderful so I went for it. Well... Overall I am unimpressed. The mascara was clumpy, and the fibers did make my eyelashes longer but they weren't really thick and nowhere near as dramatic as they're advertised.

Definitely not worth 40 bucks, in fact I have some cheaper mascaras that do a bit of a better job making my eyelashes thicker and longer. The fibers you apply to your eyelashes, I think most of them come off when you swipe the mascara again, it may just be illusion but my eyelashes did look thicker after I put the fibers on and before the last coat of mascara. I may just be doing it wrong, who knows. But even so... I have tried this a total of 3 times, I did have to get my moneys worth after all! Lol, and the first two times the fibers fell into my eyes during the day and they really did bug me. The last time they didn't bug my eyes but who knows if I was used to it or what.

After having used the fake lashes from the glambag, I can say that these are nowhere near better than false lashes, and nowhere near worth 40 bucks! So save yourself some money and stick with the normal mascaras!

April 2012 - Myglam and Birchbox

                                Birchbox                                                                                              Myglam

Yay I got both my boxes! I actually received my Birchbox first this month, which surprised me because last month there was some issues with the shipping, and the tracking site wasn't looking too promising this month either. But anyway, as you know both of these boxes are monthly subscriptions for 10 dollars a month. And they send you 4-5 samples of beauty products.

So in my Birchbox, I got 5 products this month, a Zoya nailpolish in the color Bevin. Willa Naturals- on the go cleansing towelettes, Wonderstruck perfume by Taylor Swift, J.R Watkins hand and cuticle salve, and... Dropps laundry detergent (Not shown I gave it away lol). Yes they sent me frikkin laundry detergent. Okay so I'm not going to complain too much because the rest of the stuff is nice enough, I did get FOUR very nice samples. Especially the nailpolish, any nail polish in a bag is an instant win for me, lol! This month was an environmentally friendly box, and overall it's just ok. Not amazed but not completely disappointed.

In my Myglam bag this month, and as you can see it's a very pretty shimmery pink bag, which I love! I got a set of fake lashes, Dermstore Lip quench, Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner and two more of the pink brushes to go in the case we got last month. Myglam confuses me a little bit still, I mean sure they didn't send me laundry detergent, lol. But I kinda want samples of makeup or beauty products. And really all I got was two nice things, and the rest is a little bland. I don't wear false eyelashes, I might try these, I'm not sure yet. As for the brushes... well I have a beautiful set of Teddy Bear brushes from Toofaced, so I'm not replacing them anytime soon. But I wouldn't really consider them a part of the 4/5 beauty samples you get each month. They are a little bit smaller than the brushes I have so I may use them one day if I'm feeling creative.

Who knows, me being picky! lol. I also do have this eyeliner in the same color so I guess all I see I personally received was the lip quench, which BTW I really do love. I've had it on my lips all day, it doesn't smudge off, it makes my lips look so nice and they feel great. This was probably my favorite thing out of both bags, and you can bet I'm going to purchase one once I'm out!

Overall I'm not disappointed in either one, I did like a few things. But I'm not crazy excited, so we'll see how next month goes!

Julep April Box

So last month I was thinking about unsubscribing to Julep's monthly subscription. Mainly because I wasn't all that excited with the first box I got, which was a matte red nail polish, a gold glitter polish, and a cuticle oil. It was ok, but the subscription costs 20 dollars a month and I felt like I could get nail polishes I wanted and could pick out for that much. But I didn't and felt like I would give it another try. And I am sooo glad that I did!

I got 3 nail polishes this month (I changed my profile to It Girl because really all I want is polishes, but with the other profiles sometimes you get lotions and oils for your nails, hands or feet.)
So I got three new nail polishes, Jessica - which is the light blue one, Penelope - light pink, and Neicy - a bit of a darker more creamy pink.

I really, really love them all! And before I opened my package, it actually sat on my desk for a good 20 minutes that's how unenthusiastic I was lol. But once I did open it I saw these beautiful polishes! And I am so in love with this blue I can't even tell you how much. It's absolutely gorgeous. All three colors are perfect for spring, and if you like decorating your nails for various holidays they will definitely come in handy for Easter!

And that's not even all! They came with this big black, beautiful bag for your nail polishes. I didn't show it here but inside there are little pockets that your Julep polishes will fit in perfectly! And it has this cute little flower on the zipper. Also in the box came two toe separators! I got orange ones but I watched some videos and there are different colors, my OCD side is happy I didn't get two different colors lol!

And if all that wasn't enough, inside hidden in the green grass like paper decorations were a bunch of little chocolate eggs! They are totally eaten by now so you won't be able to see them lol!

I can honestly say that I am very happy I didn't unsubscribe. This was a great box! If you would like to sign up, please do so here! It will give me referral points :-D! And if you get two friends to sign up you get a free Julep box! I know I'll be getting next months box for sure! You can also find the nail polishes for sale on that site if you'd rather buy them separately. They're 14 dollars each (About 11 dollars for members). But sign up! It definitely was worth it for me this month.

The Subscription is 19.99 a month but if you put in the code 'PENNY' When you check out, you will get your first box for only 1 cent! Which is really really awesome!

Orofluido Elixir

I was going to do a whole post on my Birchbox, which was super late btw! Lol... but I haven't tried all the products and they're all fairly new to me.

But today! I did just try the Orofluido elixer for your hair, it comes in a cute little bottle and smells like a very subtle vanilla. After trying Keracolor I was worried about trying this one because I didn't want to end up with a big gloppy mess all over my head. But it... is.. amazing. I can't stop touching my hair honestly. It feels so soft and smooth!

(Click the picture to go buy it!)

I highly highly recommend this! It is a little expensive but you don't need to use that much at all, so it should last for a long time anyway. And as if my raving wasn't enough, you should know that it is made up of very healthy oils! So you won't be putting a bunch of junk in your beautiful hair.

That really is all I can say, you NEED to try it, go go!!

Skin79 Crystal Pearl BB Cream

I just received this in the mail after watching Michelle Phan use it 500 times in her videos, lol! And I knew I had to try it, especially after I went to the website to check it out! It's not really a bronzer or a cover up as much as it is an enhancer for your face. It makes your face shiny without making it oily, more sparkly... Kind of like what you would see on a movie star!

When I first tried it on I was really super excited. I applied it in a very youtube makeup guru kind of way (lol) and even took my new kabuki brush to blend it in. And it really did look like my face was lit up by dozens of jewels! I loved it!

It also comes with an extra hidden little compartment in the tip, if you open it up you get a shimmery type of makeup to add to your nose or t-bone to highlight those areas! This has become one of my favorite things, it can really brighten up dull kind of boring skin and make you sparkle and shine.

These are the ingredients they have listed up on the site, so not only does it make you look great, but it is really good for your skin too!
You can find the cream here on the Pretty and Cute site. I really recommend this like crazy, you won't be disappointed. It is amazing!

I wanted to blog about my Birchbox today, because it was supposed to be here today, but it never came! So hopefully tomorrow, :-D.

Stay sweet! And sparkley!

First! March Glambag Review

Hello! Welcome to my blog, this will be my very first post, yay! I'll cut out all my intro chat and get right to it, since we just got out our March Glam bags I want to talk about that first!

(You can click on pictures to make em bigger!)
MyGlam is a subscription site, launched back in December, 10 dollars a month, you receive 4-5 full size or deluxe samples. Now before you get excited, the first few months were VERY awesome, recently it hasn't been so hot. But they're promising great things so if you haven't subscribed yet and want to give it a try I do recommend it for a few reasons!

First and my favorite! The community! Yes you have your usual complainers and downers but overall a lot of people are SO helpful! And I love that the founders of myglam stop by and actually comment and interact with everyone. They also have beauty tutorials every month for the products we receive, random fun pictures, contests, posts.. ect. I would check that out for sure even if you can't subscribe yet! Check it out on facbook!

Second of course is the makeup and products! While the products have not been full size or very big at all lately, they have been nice enough brands. You'll see below what I'm talking about! And if you want to see all the products released in previous months, those are at the website as well!

So let's get to it! This months Glambag.
Now I LOVE this months bag! The actual bag I mean lol, I think that it is so cute!

So you can see this month was mostly ads, coupons and tiny samples. I did end up getting the Absolute Bronzing Boost spf15 but I'm not a big bronzer person, I'm very light skinned and this particular color has the tendency to make me look like an oompa loompa.

As for the brush, it is very "OK" I mean it's soft, and if they're going to give out more brushes for a set I can't complain!
All in all this bag was only 10 dollars so I guess you get what you paid for, but most of this could have easily been picked out of a magazine or gotten down at the mall for free.

My absolute favorite thing in this bag, besides the bag lol... was the Dermstore.com giftcard, you get 25 dollars off a purchase of 50 dollars or more, and that is worth it to me because I've been on a huge makeup/nailpolish buying binge!

I also have to mention something about the KeraColor.. I got another sample from them for being one of the first 500 to 'Like' Their page on FB, and I used it yesterday, I did use it according to directions and it left my hair a big shiny greasy mess. I recommend not using this unless you have some time to wash it out in case this happens to you too!

As for the tiny samples... I am excited to use the Pur-Lisse one, I have been excited to try their products for a while and I had hoped to get the lip nourisher instead of the bronzer, but oh well on that! The eye sample will probably sit around for a while lol.

And that's it for my March Glambag! As I said before it's worth a shot there are supposed to be changes coming up, including more makeup and whatnot. So I do recommend it even if this month wasn't all that great sample wise, I did like the bag and coupon.

Stay Sweet!
